A six figure contract would mean they were signed on for 5 fights for 20k each or something. CroCop was signed on for six fights for a total of 2.5 million, I think but I could be wrong. I don't think there are any annual contracts regardless of fights though.

That's what I thought, mostly, but having been kicked in the head recently I wanted to make sure.

Does Fedor fight more often? At 100k a fight he would have to win 25 matches every second week to make Cro Cops $2.5m

    Wouldn't UFC rather buy Fedor??

More then the money paid to the marquee names - marquee names obviously have SOME negotiating power - what is going on with the wildly fluctuating purses for people's first few fights?
There's no choice but to confront you, to engage you, to erase you. I've gone to great lengths to expand my threshold of pain. I will use my mistakes against you. There's no other choice.

Those six-figure contracts are not as impressive as they sound. According to wikipedia a fighter awarded one can earn up to $300000 over three years and nine fights, but they are only guaranteed three fights and $36000. Pretty dishonest advertising, if you ask me.

All athlete contracts are screwed up. My understanding of the TUF contracts though is that they are three fights minnimum and payout ~33k each.

I don't mean he's defrauding anyone. I just meant that when Dana advertizes the fact that his promotion is awarding six figure contracts when only 36 thousand is guarantee, he is misleading people into thinking he's more generous to his fighters than he is.
UpaLumpa: if wikipedia is correct, the first three are 12k each, with a 12k bonus.
