Not so, my friend! Thar be my answer!

Slightly more serious note, why no love for boxers? I'd like to get training from Ali, and just to hang out with the guy would be cool.

If we're goin outside of realistic though, my wish is for the blue guy there.

Hmm.....a society with "high caste" individuals(read nancy boys)
Nobles have often been capable warriors. Read some history.

    where there are no gloves,
    Exactly. Pansy.

    no punching bags,
They used dead animals...like pigs for instance...

    no mats
Are you going to pretend that no one was practicing wrestling seriously before mats?
, and the only recorded info are a couple of books nobody reads(no internet or mass printing),
There are many statues and paintings of various techniques that are obviously sophisticated. We see chokes, joint manipulations positional dominance, takedowns and clinch work are all seen.

I'm pretty sure those guys didn't have gogoplatas.
You have no idea what they had but if you think that a culture that waged war and fought for sport quite seriously didn't have sophisticated martial arts then you're simply wrong.

I'm also pretty sure the same **** was re-invented over and over again for every group, but they didn't have all the grappling moves we have now. You have to go to asia to find somebody that can kick and elbow correctly.
see above. An obvious push kick on an ancient greek vase. oh...and elbows...goodness...no one ever thought to use those but asian's...that's for sure

If they play fought all the fucking time I can give them better timing and more skill in basics than the modern warrior though.
lols....watch out ancient warriors of history, all you guys who lived through your athleticism and skill or died through your lack of it. tharuz has a white belt in BJJ and is going to eat your lunch with the gogoplata he learned off youtube

Still rather learn my wrestling from God. Nothing says positional dominance better than being "Lord of Lords"

For all those who are suggesting Kimura, you do know what he was like as an instructor right?

He terrorized the entire dojo. Everyone, including his training partners were terrified of him. They often begged him not to use his Osoto-gari because it would frequently leave the recipient with concussions.

He would put the entire class through gruelling spartan-like exercise routines and demand everyone kept up his pace, after all, if you couldn't keep up with an old retired guy like him then what chance do you really have?
If a student wasn't up to his standards then he would pick them apart repeatadly in Randori, throwing them with severe force even against walls and off the mat telling them "If you train harder, you wouldn't have let that happen"

The only thing that scared the students more than Judo lessons with him was NOT showing up to a sessions. He would literally come around your place and tear everything apart demanding to know what was more important than training.

Mas Oyama wasn't much different either, except with an even bigger emphasis on conditioning. It's no wonder they were both good friends.
