Of the 61 CMH's awarded for gallantry in 1967, 22 were for action in the spring. As far as I can tell, none of the description os of action match the (admittedly abbreviated) description provided by Mr. Liarpants.

Read for yourself. It'll turn your stomach to think that this guy is trying to get credit for sacrifices it looks like he never made, once you read the actions that REAL serviceman particpated in.

By my rough calculations, a 300ft fall would last ~4.31 seconds.

That's enough time to get up to a speed of 94mph(152kph).

I'm not taking into account the effects of drag, but it wont make a big difference in this instance. Also the speed at which the helicopter was moving when he exited would add to his velocity.
Straight punches make you go blind. More damage is done to a criminals nervous system when they are struck. Strikes that make you stronger. All this and more systema douchebaggery:

Oh yeah, I forgot, sadly enough, about a guy from my gym falling just over 100ft. while climbing in North Carolina. He was killed instantly. I'll edit this post with a link if I can find it. Sorry for interjecting so much with my climbing nonsense. I just feel like I know A little bit about falls.

I was Airborne in the Army so I know a little on the subject.
    1. It would be impossible to land on your feet and fall over after such a fall.
    2. It is possible to "survive" such a fall (I have seen it with my own eyes), but the people usually have multiple fractures, severe internal bleeding, and the one guy that I talked to six months after had deep psycological problems.

You also have to add the force of the expolsion to his velocity.

Given the information and the situation I am going to say that it is Complete Bullshit!

Sad to say, not only is it plausible, but greater heights are recorded of people falling, and surviving it. However, things of this nature are generally recorded, espicially in the military. http://www.greenharbor.com/fffolder/ffallers.html This does not mean I buy into his B.S. I dont, I'm meerly stating it is possible.

I guess he could claim that the triple canopy jungle provided a number of speed breaks falling from branch to branch, but the timeline itself is indefensible.

That said, since the guy admits his family are the biggest liars in Texas, does he even expect people to take him seriously? Or maybe he thinks that if you do, you've been given fair warning and it's your own fault?

    Well done, Mr. Olorin, sir!

I eagerly await the rbuttal from Reagan...
And lo, Kano looked down upon the field and saw the multitudes. Amongst them were the disciples of Uesheba who were greatly vexed at his sayings. And Kano spake: "Do not be concerned with the mote in thy neighbor's eye, when verily thou hast a massive stick in thine ass".

There was not, and still isn't, a Marine Corps organization called "First Force Recon Battalion". There are two different recon units in the Corps; Reconaissance Battalions and Force Reconaissance Companies. Each Division (three active duty and one reserve) has one of each and they have distinctly different missions. Force Recon (as its known inside the Corps) is a super-elite unit composed of some of the hardest people in the world. Recon Battalion folks are also great troops and many aspire to be assigned to a Force Recon Company. There is no way that any Marine, let alone a recon Marine would confuse the two types of outfit in the manner this clown did. Lots of wannabees have gotten strummed for claiming membership in Force Recon.
