The term I was taught in control and restraint was the carotid comealong...Wouldnt ever use that term in court though. "He struggled...I restrained him" K.I.S.S

Yeah, that sounds better than, "I choked him out and teabagged him"

Before I started work as an unarmed security guard, I worked for Crowd Management Services (CMS) at Seattle Center. They did/do screening and similar duties for the various activities there (mainly Key Arena) and some other locales (Gorge at George...).

Interestingly enough, unarmed security guards recieve no unarmed/fight training, only a video on verbal de-escalation.

At CMS, the company policy on an eviction was for three people to tag team the unruly patron. One person was to confront the person and explain that they had to leave. As the employee did so the others where to "subtly" announce their presence. When the verbal employee turned to lead the evictee out, the other two were to follow. If the evictee did not comply they were to escalate from simultaneously grabbing the elbow, then the wrist with the other hand, slide the elbow hand up to the shoulder while bending the arm, take the person to the floor, then bend the wrist outward for pain compliance until the evictee agreed to leave, at which point they were to stand him up and try again (anytime the evictee complied, you stopped the escalation). The reality was usually one of the members of the barricade crew (generally 6'+ and 300+lbs.) would just pick the offending person up and carry them out.

In BC we get rudimentary training on Wristlocks and armlocks to evict ppl. We use them a lot so we do in company training to refresh before a big show. Helps that most of the decent guys all trained at the same club and we taught what we used.

We only use two ppl for most evictions. One talks, one stands at 4:30/7:30. When its time to go, person from behind grabbs first, and while the patron turns to react, the front person grabs other arm. Sometimes it goes to hell from there, but thats the job.

I worked crowd control at Sydney Casino where they were having trouble with groups of lebanese guys. Their policy was '2 man escort, wristlocks only' and ' Let them hit you first so it looks good for us on camera'. If I could only have copied some of the security footage and put it on the net. It was like the three stooges. When the number of badguys equaled number of security personnel.... It degenerated into a circus. When a wristlock didnt work... try a wristlock. I ended up getting sacked becxause my methods were deemed 'heavy handed'. My methods were RNC's and hammerlocks.... Ha ha

So...you only evict people two times a day?

    Very nice...
