^^^ And you are also in your early 20's, with testosterone at normally levels.

Not to derail, but a lot of people don't realize how important testosterone is for staying alert/energetic and to be able to sleep (and rest during sleeping.) Ahhh, those days long gone, I could go everyday with 4 hours of sleep and have no problem with it... sniff :(

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

Wheat grass pills used to give me crazy energy throughout the day. Plus they're cheap. When I first heard of wheat grass I heard that it improved digestion, seeing as how it's more or less just concentrated vegetables. But oddly enought after a day or two on it I started recovering from everything faster and always, ALWAYS had energy. Couldn't even sleep for more than 6 hours if I tried. Most of the pills touted as energy boosters just made me slightly hyper for an hour or two then left me drowzy as hell for the rest of the day.

If you put out more energy that you will ever need in any particular day or situation in a short length of time during your training and recover fully, you will produce more energy during the rest of the day. You get out what you put in during training, and nothing more. Train harder, train faster, train smarter, recover better, and eat 6 meals a day. Don't take my words for it.

wheat grass pills????? I've never heard of that one. I've heard of wheat grass drinks, though.

They're mostly sold online. I have yet to see them sold in GNC or any other supplement store. I've heard that the shakes are better, but they taste like absolute ass.

I noticed nobody asked this guy what he is doing for work, how old he is, how much he sleeps, etc. Just try this supplement, or that supplement. He could be over training, have a tough job, or drinking too much, eating poorly, etc. Go onto Bodybuilding.com, and most of the guys will say almost every supplement out there is crap. Wheat Grass? Has anyone ever heard of the Placebo effect?

Try re-reading his post. He specifically asked for supplements that could give him energy. Not an explanation as to why he doesn't have energy. After you're done, re-read my post. If I took a supplement and expected it to aid my diet and nothing else, why would I experience a completely unrelated placebo effect?

Well, digestion does have quite a bit to do with metabolism and thus energy... But I also do think that wheat grass is some good ****. Fresh squeezed is better than the pills imo, just mix it with some other fruit and vegetable juices and you are good to go.

Beet juice is also awesome for energy. I like apple, carrot, beet, and wheat grass juice together... but I am just kind of hippy dippy like that.

The Great American Detox Diet has some good stuff in it that I recommend as well.
