Anthony was teh correct on stand your ground.
Florida law used to only have the "castle doctrine," in that, your home is your castle and you have a right to defend it with no expectation of fleeing if you feel you are in grave danger.
The stand your ground law simply applies that to anywhere outside your home as well. If you feel your life is in grave danger, you can respond with deadly force to defend yourself.
Now if you stab a dude 100 times and he's just got his fists, you might be in trouble (depending on how aggressive the prosecutors/grand jury are).
But in general, you can blow people away if you honestly feel your life is in danger.
