Itto is a fictional character. If you take a close look at his sword technique, it barely resembles Suio Ryu Iai Kenpo.
Look up the 15th soke of the Suio Ryu Iai Kenpo, Katsuse Yoshimitsu Kagehiro for more complete information on the system which is still practiced today.

I just c&p this quote from a thread on E-Budo.
