Why was this bill crafted? If we know the motivation and the forces behind it this could be used to the advantage of the bullshido cause.
For all we know this could be a measure from the ignorant to crack down on McDojos.

If you want to read way more than is healthy about this, look up the Independent Judo in the UK thread on Judoforum.
I don't actually mind that the guy who is doing the coaching isn't a kiddie fiddler, and actually has some training in being a coach. Keeps the BS down.Originally Posted by MavericZ

I've spoken to some other coaches I know, and they heard about this a while back, but then information stopped flowing, so they kinda ignored it. But now they're also going to their respective "next levels" to find out more information.
There are some petitions and what not, if we can get as many people on here as possible to sign them, then maybe people will take notice. The main one is a petition to have the standard and certificate made openly available to all MA's - which would stop the worrying from smaller clubs.

The CRB check is good. A better way to tackle the rest would be an external training course that teaches warm ups streches etc. and the basics of teach; styles of learning, what works best e.g. breaking things down to steps, doing not just watching. Then an internal section on how to teach your sport/art, requiring a coaching instructor with a BEdu or PGCE from you org.
Forcing every on to join a single org is not a good plan, karate is in there can you imagine a full contact katate style (name escapes me) being happy if they pick a point sparing org?

This bill sucks. We need chunners etc to laugh at and feed our sense of superiority.

You just can't do it can you? You have to have at least 1 post per thread bashing Chunners!" The reason elite level MMAists don't fight with aikido is the same reason elite level swimmers don't swim with their lips." - Virus
" I shocked him with my skills on the ice becuase Wing Chun is great for hockey fighting." - 'Sifu' Milt Wallace
"Besides, as you might already know (from Virus, for example) - there's only 1 wing chun and it sucks big time" - Tonuzaba

"That said, if he blocked my hip on a drop nage, I would extend my leg into a drop tai Otoshi and slam him so hard his parents would die." - MTripp

You're right, I really have to stop this.
