The 5th. Dan was awarded by Sensei Dominic McCarthy, 7th. Dan,
Founder of Zen Judo, with whom I trained for many years.

My reply (A bit rushed, I am @ work)

    Mike,

    Thanks for getting back to me on this matter, but you now can see why I am asking the following;

You've had mention made of who awarded you (with regard to rank) what and when for every other rank you claim on your website, why not this one? It is slightly misleading to just put "5th Dan Judo" when really it's "5th Dan, Zen Judo"

Which from a Judoka's point of view, are two completly different things. Maybe you could have your webmaster rectify this?

Myself and others at Bullshido.net are also interested in some aspects of your syllabus, as I have mentioned in previous emails, especially the Knife and Gun disarms, may I enquire as to who entered these into the syllabus and why?

P.S You may wish to contact Zen Judo as they've made no mention of you on the Dan Grade register on the Zen Judo website http://www.zenjudo.co.uk/modules.php...showpage&pid=2

Thanks for your time and I await your reply.

Ladies and gentlemen... Red Sauce has only one speed: Mofo.

Excellent work... He's probably looked at the site and decided you're not just some random 'tard. Be interesting to see what happens from here.

I cannot find any reference to MIke Johnson's Zen Judo grade on the Internet.

Including the Dan Grade Register at Zen Judo's homesite : http://www.zenjudo.co.uk/modules.php...showpage&pid=2

This is at the moment puzzling, as according to that list, only two 5th Dan's exist, and above that only about 10 people.

So the high Dan grades in this small org are few and far between.

    The main question is however:

Why would Zen Judo award a BJA Kyu grade a 5th Dan?

The only answer I can come up with so far is sympathy, because I bet money Mike Johnson did not start as a white belt and work his way up, else we'd be reading all about it on his site.

Right guys, where now? I was thinking Zen Judo forums, but they are a ghosttown....Where shall we pose this question?

When you look down the list of Zen Judo (what's Zen Judo anyway?) dan grades, there is email information for a lot of people.
Would Zen Judo be interested that there's a guy not on their list claiming a 5th dan?
Mr Sauce... are you planning on emailing any of those chaps and asking them if they are aware of this individual?

    My Reply

    Mike,

Due to your suspicious decision to end correspondence, myself and my colleagues over at Bullshido.net (Internet's #1 Martial Arts Forum) have been left with no other option but to continue our lines of enquiry in the public domain that is the internet.

Incase you mislayed the link i sent you before, you can find out investigation in the "Martial Arts BS, Fraud, Investigations and Standards" the thread is called "Waregachi Ju Jitsu Kai - BS (UK)" and the hyperlink is http://www.bullshido.net/forums/showthread.php?t=50602 which is hard to type in everytime, so just pop it in your browser's favourites folder.

Remember that we are massive fans of freedom of speech, so feel free to jump in to the thread at anytime and post your views and comments, we would really like that, maybe some of your students might find the thread and help us, that too would also be very welcome!

Yours in the spirit of Budo,

Mike should google Coda Scott, Tiger Klay, Leo Berador Clausen, David Race Bannon, Ashida Kim etc etc and see that most of the top links are Bullshido threads exposing those people.

By the way, Mike, if you're reading... google Waregachi JuJitsu Kai ... this thread is 5th.
    And climbing.

    PM inbound, Mr Sauce.
I'm leaving work now, so I'll catch you later.

I could have put that in the PM couldn't I?
