    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Another noobie question

I've checked out some threads on this forum, and from what I've read systema is crap. But what about Sambo/ Combat Sambo? That stuff looks (from the point of view of a noob like me) awesome. It seems to combine BJJ like wrastling and some sweet leg locks with judo ish throws and Muay Thai ish kicks and knees. Whats the verdict on Sambo?

What's the difference between Sambo, Combat Sambo, and Command Sambo?

Anyone? I can't find it on the net. All it says is that combat sambo allows striking, whereas regular sambo only allows grappling.

Well here's another question, I hope someone can answer it. I'm looking into the American Sambo Academy Northwest, which is run by Brett Jacques, "2x national sambo champion and the founder of american sambo." Has anyone heard of this place, or guy, and can they tell me if this is BS or if it's legit?

regular sambo is essentially the russian version of judo/submission wrestling & is a competitive grappling sport; combat sambo adds strikes & is a more fully rounded "street"/self-defense system ... I believe. I am not now nor have I ever been a sambonist.

Omega is a sambo BB & will doubtless be along soon to abuse you ... I mean enlighten you ...
