    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Roughly $53,000/year to learn CMA?!?!

    http://www.taoistapprenticeshipcourse.com/

This link will take you to a page which describes an apprentiship from this "master."

    http://www.realkungfu.info/about_sifu_kash.htm

"Grandmaster David E. Kash has nearly 41 years of experience in the martial arts and Chinese Medicine. Since the age of ten, he has spent much of his life in monasteries and temples both here and abroad. Although now a Christian, Sifu Kash was formerly an ordained Taoist Priest, which was essential in gathering the information that many seek. His accomplishments are renowned worldwide."

    *sniff sniff*...something smells...

The course involves instruction in some pretty sketchy chinese history/philosophy as well as the usual chi kung/chinese medicine/internal kung fu BS. The kicker though is the price: up front 160k for three years of training.

If you look at the contract you sign before entering this course (which is the most ridiculous legal document I've ever seen), you'll realise that basic living expenses are not even covered in the cost! http://www.taoistapprenticeshipcours..._Agreement.pdf

I can't imagine anyone in their right mind would ever even consider this. One could pay for medical training and kung fu training in Taiwan for (my best guess) perhaps half this price...not to mention you get a real degree instead of a "doctor of metaphysics" lol

Anyways, this is probably the usual "point and laugh" thread unless someone on here has had some experience with this group...

[sarcasm]It makes perfect sense. To be good at a CMA one must be a monk, and a monk must make vows of poverty and chastity. So the steep tuition is just helping you attain these goals. If they take all your money, you will be poor, if you actually paid for this school, there is no way a woman would ever touch you[/sarcasm]

That is insane, it's even more than an Ivy League school.

One other thing that struck me as funny, is this guy claims to have teh realz tai chi. Much like the real _ing _un, no historical scholar has been able to say exactly what tai chi originally looked like or where it came from...yet somehow, this clown ended up with it:)

    http://www.realkungfu.info/emperors_long_fist.htm

Further oddities include the fact that this style supposedly contained all components of hsing i and bagua back in 984 AD...roughly a millenium before hsing i or bagua even existed. Who in their right mind would pay this guy to 160K to teach them chinese history lol???

Thought you guys would get a kick out of the 'application' form. Notice it only costs $100 (nonrefundable) to be 'checked' out by these guys.

The sad thing is that if this truly exists and is not some troll job there is undoubtedly someone out there stupid enough to pay and train there. This is just disgusting amounts of greed and stupidity to anyone who trains with him, who the hell is this guy and what's his claim to fame, tournament record etc. He better be the absolute pinnacle of t3h d34dly to even dream of backing his cost up. I bet actual legitimate masters such as the Gracies, Dean Lister, Cro Cop etc would cost WAY less to train with and have actual valuable information to give you. I know for a fact that Karl Gotch who is a legitimate and renowned master wrestler doesnt even charge money and teaches for free.
