For a little while after they got taken off the market you could get "parts kits", the knife minus the spring, thru ads in the Shotgun News and suchlike. But then they went totally away fast, so I think in the U.S. the BATF has an especial hardon versus these devices.

MAYBE at a big gun show you'd find some parts or plans, but I don't know. Maybe if you bought your local machinist much beer . . . .

I used to have a photo somewhere of one completely broken down into components; I'll check my computer tonight and post it if I find it.

Once upon a time, I saw a company that sold the ballistic knife sans drive spring, since it was the spring that made it illegal, but they also sold a "ballistic baton" that fired a blunt projectile, with "spare springs available". I never bought it, but you could look out for that. They may have been shut down since.

I've read that they will go through 1/4" plywood. Sheesh...

Well, the blade, of course... Personal history, origin, etc... Or did I miss something higher up in this thread?

Tonuzaba, I'm not that well read on swords so I don't want to stray out of my lane too much.
It's the Tenchi from Cheness Cutleries. They say it's a heavy duty Dojo Cutter.
    http://sbg-sword-store.sword-buyers-...om/Tenchi.html
It deffinatly has a great feel to it, very solid. I've bashed it into quite a few things and was impressed (though not having a sword backround that doesn't take much). VERY sharp too.
I like the simple tsuba on it, not a big fan of the super decoritive ones or handles. Gives it the real functional feeling I was looking for.
I'll get a picture of my little stand in progress.

I'm looking at also picking up the matching shortsword (and need some advice)
This is my swords matching partner for lackof the right word.
    http://sbg-sword-store.sword-buyers-...ko-katana.html
I don't really like it though. It's a 'Ko Katana' when I was looking at a Wakizashi. I'm not a fan of the longer handle.

The Wakizashi I had my eye on actually belongs to the Tenchi's sister sword (shura http://sbg-sword-store.sword-buyers-...wakizashi.html )
I'm not sure if mixing the two swords will look good or if having a sword from two different sets will look stupid. (your opnion?)

    Filipino Dude nope it's not.
