on my lunch break, so I can't read all of these replies in depth, but I noticed a few people asking for No-touch Ko's or the like to have a higher penalty. The reason why certain things aren't worth so much is because what are the chances of a No-touch KO guy NOT being guilty of at least half the rest? And if he's not, and he runs the school awesome besides being that, then he may just be a good teacher who happens to mention how he believes in Chinese mythology. Not the brightest guy, but I don't think that should damn a school.
Omega: I'm gonna have to think how to reword #8. That basically was trying to describe schools who don't teach you how to put your fuckin hands on guard, but instead force you to use sweeping arm type blocks and parries. Nothing wrong with teaching traditional style blocks, I personally feel they have their place and use no matter how many Boxers say otherwise, but to not teach how to simply cover and take some shots on the forearms instead of the face is unacceptable.

Royce's name is pronounced "Hoyce". get over it. You KNOW the correct pronounciation, so say it right - this isn't complicated. I used to call "Boss Rooten" " Bass Ruttin' ", because that's how it sounds out, but lookee loo, it turns out it wasn't said exactly the way it is phonetically spelled! Oh Em Gee
Yup. It's to see if they've been up to date in the past decade or two on the advancements in the martial arts world, and who has been responsible. All the Kempo guys I knew always pronounced it Royce (actually it was Renzo -not "Henzo"- that was said). Drove me nuts. Also, I think the point of the question is to gauge whether or not your instructor actually has watched UFC 1 or discussed it, and not just read Royce's name on a Brazilian cereal box. UFC 1 may have been one of the most significant events in martial arts in the 1900's. Actually, I don't think there's a "may have been" about it. So that's why instructors should know the correct pronouciation.Knowing is not enough, you must apply...

Just so you guys know, nearly 2/3's of this stuff is pretty much just me remembering the BS I dealt with, with idiots associated with my Kempo school. If I were to rate that organization as a whole, we're lookin at 39pts. So don't fuckin feel bad. Took me 8 years to wise up :P
