Well, I'm going to make an excuse here, but there are only about 2 - 4 decent sized adults for me to spar in the whole school (and that's out of 2 dojos and 3 park & rec sites). I'm not going to learn anything from beating on teenagers...

    Anyway, switching topics...

Qualifier question on #1: Where I train there is the rank of Junior Blackbelt (under 16). If a student gets his/her Black Belt before 16, he/she gets a Junior Black Belt and has to test for their current ranking again when he/she is "of age".

Does that still count as Black Belts under 13?

I know that still makes the dojo where I train Bullshido, but still...

My BJJ school is very good. It is affiliated with Martin Escobar. We train hard and often. The school is open 6 days a week. I did miss a month from an elbow injury but thats it. If you aren't going hard then you won't be prepared for real life. If you want to tap out then it isn't a big deal but most of my training partners you either have to choke out completely or really be torqueing on their joint to verge its going to snap. I've seena crapload of people quit because the cardio in the beginning of class is too much.

How about I take your 2 posts and start another thread?

Your continued posting will derail this thread.

Tapping is a safetly device built into the art. Get Choked out isn't bad, actually it kinda fun. However, joints will dislocated a break etc. I rather my partner tap so I can continue training with them then me break them and send them to the hospital. Thats just ego.

The only reason not to tap to a well placed armbar is you have too much ego to admit a loss. Its ok, training is the part where you are allowed to make mistakes.
