I don't feel this is true at all, Chuck won this fight fair and square. IMO it was even possible for the fight to be stopped in the 1st.
i keep tryin to spar, but nothin happens!

I agree. It was stopped early. It didn't change the outcome but Ortiz was still defending himself when it was stopped. You could hear Randy Couture saying 'he's fine, he's fine, he's taking most of those on his arms' just a second or so before it was stopped.

He never did any of the following:
verbally quit, tap out, turn his head, or take full force blows to the face.
But on the same token, I'm sure he was glad the ref stopped it when he did.

ok, i just watched it again. he wasn't in imminent danger of being destroyed, but he also wasn't doing anything.
after the fight he shook hands with chuck, and before the decision was announced, he put up his hands and said "i tried."
his whole interview was about how upset he was with himself, and respect for chuck. not a word about the stop, but he didn't look angry about it.
chuck seemed to think it was a bit early.

It really doesn't matter. The better fighter won and Tito looked afraid the whole fight.

Tito's a punk.

Wouldn't have made a differnece (just like tito-shammy 2) but it was a tad early. Tito wasn't taking much damage. It was only a matter of time.
Anyway, this doesn't make him a punk. He has been honest about his assessment of the fight, that is, his getting his ass kicked. Saying it was stopped a bit early doesn't change that. The rest of his antics don't make him a punk either, they make him the figure head the UFC wants.

Another reason I prefer PRIDE to UFC; earlier stoppage. But agree with everyone else when I say that it wouldn't have made a difference anyway, but I really wanted to see Tito get knocked the **** out.
Y SO SRIUS?

I thought that it was stopped a little too early myself. He wasnt rocked, of course he didnt look like himself in that fight.
He had that look that he was already beaten. I like Tito.
