That grappling works. Grappler's also tend to have bulky gis and work out clothes that don't flow with movements properly as a traditional MA uniform will.

Ok kids, class is in session. The topic of this thread is disproving bullshit in the martial arts, and you're in luck because today's lesson is all about Ving Tsun Kung fu.

In the street where random attacks occur there is no time to warm up, to stretch, or throughly study your opponent or develop a fight plan. Again, the inherent weakness in sprot oriented grappling and Jiu Jitsu styles.

My brother had a school mate (studying Physics no less) who believed martial artists could chop down lamp posts with their bare hands.

So when you move to new neighborhoods, do you have to go door-to-door and announce "in accordance with the law, i have to notify you that I am a registered black belt."?

is there an astounding amount of BS in TCMA? yes. in fact i would say most of it is total BS.

is there NO good, traditional CMA? no, there is some, in the US, in the UK, in europe, in china, in taiwan, etc.

FYI, sanda is a rule set, not a style. calling the fighters who won the tournaments you are speaking of "sanda fighters" is the first clue that you don't know what you are talking about. any TCMA school worth it's salt has "sanda fighters" in it.
Ok, thank you for enlighten me.

But there are schools and clubs only training for sanda, as there are clubs training for taichi tuishou tournaments without learning any forms. Because forms are not necessary for fighting.

So what's next? Boxing is no style, it's only a rule set?

As I have seen sanda fighters did quite well in MMA tournaments here in Taipei. So it is not only about rules.
