He's all over the shop because he's new. I got poked in the eye and knee'd in the head by someone on their first night grappling because he panicked and flailed about all the time. If your working with him just do your best to control him and render him helpless rather than just tapping him all the time, which will probably just frustrate him and lead to more spazzing.

I once had a student that did not know the meaning of control, he broke ribs, a jaw, and fractured one of my guys sternums, after several attempts to quell his overzealous ways, he is now, no longer a student. Make sure the instructor knows of his behavior. It is up to him to decide if he needs to move on.

Is there anyone there that is bigger and stronger than him. Start in a position where he dosn't use the proper escape and have the big dude muscle him with as little technique as possible, while explaining that the only way to beat someone bigger and stronger is through skill. I know this works because it was done to me when I started wrestling in high school and I was the spaz. After a couple of years of wrestling I became a somewhat skilled spaz, but less dangerous to my training partners.

Alright, "punch him in the nose" with quotation marks, then...
Seriously, speak to the instructor, if you cannot speak to this guy before/after training about how he isn't helping himself or the other students with what he's doing...
Besides, if he cannot get bruises because of work, send him off to do bonsai gardening.

I think the policy that my instructor set in the gym is the best policy there is for over-zealous newcomers.
Go easy on them. But if they give you a hard time, give back as hard as you receive. They'll soon get the message. (That's of course assuming that you're ABLE to give them a harder time then they give you.)
If he was being a jerk, and if I were you, I wouldn't pop his arm, that's kinda permanent. I'd choke him out. Again. And again. Till he got the message. -

Best idea so far. The guy actually isn't bigger than me, which is why I end up rolling with him a lot. Pretty much so I can just crush the **** out of him. Last night his arm did make a "pop" noise. But that didn't seem to dissuade him at all. I'll just choke the **** out of him some more the name of Bullshido.
