WOW!! video of me fighting (Rather boring)
Just looking at the website of the place I train in Thailand & they've put up some footage of my fight from last year!!!
Not the most exciting footage, or footage that shows me at my best (Almost knocked him out in the second with elbows) , but footage none the less.
From July 2006, at Kawila boxing stadium
Took the fight on two days notice (The guy in my gym who was meant to fight got a massive abcess on his shin), so I didn't get a proper training taper, gassed around round three .... lost on points in five.
Back to thailand in 6 weeks for another 6 months (If the money lasts) will do better next time.
Massive apologies for the terrible clinching in the video ..... We practice the "Limpet" style clinching Alex wrote an article about, this guy completely defeated it with a sort of "Get side on and dry hump till the ref seperates us" tech.
You looked pretty good. The question I have is why you did not throw any leg kicks, I assume leg kicks where legal. I think leg kicks would have wore him down.
I thought you did pretty good. I could tell when you gassed. Im not saying that I would last more a round before gassing though.
Your punches were dead on. Good fight
Certainly a learning experience, it gave me plenty to work on for next time.
No matter how tired you get "punches in bunches" head hunting or looking for the one shot is twice as tiring.
sort out my kicking - I had a problem (Still a bit) with power control- I either tap or put everything behind it. Pedro's advice before the fight "Don;t break your leg"
Condition, condition, condition
Use the positives Adrenaline gives you .... but beware the negatives.
& on ad-infinitum
hope to be fighting again by April to see if I can put any of the lessons learned into practice.
