Hmm... to be completely impartial, I could see how the ref could have seen that as having the choke fully applied... but normally they wait till the guy passes out, right? I say rematch, but nobody listens to me...

No, Royce did not tap, nor do I think he ever would have.
Royce was obviously still conscious, as his forearms are still pointed upward by his voluntary muscular system.
No, the match should not have been stopped. No tap, no choke out, etc.
BUT...
Royce's arms were beginning to relax, jerk, relax, and he wasn't using his arms to resist Yoshida just prior to the match stop. This would be indicative of Royce losing conciousness. I was under the impression that the choke was applied, and that it was just a matter of time before the lights went out.
Additionally, Yoshida had Royce pinned down pretty well. I don't think Royce was going anywhere.
Despite my incredible respect for Royce, and my desire for him to have totally kicked Yoshida's ass, I do think it is obvious that, had the ref not stopped that fight, Royce would have lost consciousness, and the match, in a couple of moments. Unfortunately, we'll never know for sure, because the referee had to be an ass and break the prior-agreed-upon fight format. -
