Hell yeah! Hell no!

Hop Gar/Taiji MMA fighter!

This one's for the idiots always bitching that you never see TCMA in the ring:

Emphsising the fund raising aspect of the event named, "
Fists Against Hunger":

http://www.sportstalkcleveland.com/kalikas/index.php

Or talking more specifically about the kind of MA event it was:
http://www.prokarateweekly.com/storypage/stories34.htm

Chris Hienztman, from this Hop Gar school in Ohio: http://www.realhopgar.com/pr01.htm , defeated Mark "the Shark" Miller ( http://www.heavyweightgladiators.com/profilemiller.html) in the tournament linked above.

I was having trouble seeing if it was kickboxing or MMA but the sportstalkCleveland.com site lists the following results:

Complete 2005 Fists Against Hunger Results

Solemon over John Hayes - TKO rd 1
Jason Taylor over Robert Bradley - armbar 1:58 rd 1
Braden Workman over Chris Larkin - choke 4:28 rd 1
Dan Swift over Jason Halderman - ref stoppage 3:11 rd 2
Ryan Madigan over Chris Overbey - TKO 0:48 rd 2
Josh Souder over Paul Sharp - rnc 3:02 rd 1
JP Pocock over Albert Rosales - guillotine 0:36 rd 1
Dustin Hazlett over Kerry McKinney - tapout 1:28 rd 1
Chris Heinztman over Mark Miller - ref stoppage 1:26 rd 1

:hello2:

edit:

I can't figure out why the first link keeps coming out wrong. You'll just ahve to copy and paste it but without the space between "cleve" and "and". :XXarcade:

Also I just noticed:
A practitioner of Tibetan Hop Gar and Kuo Lien Ying - Yang style T'ai Chi, Mr. Hientzman teaches both disciplines in Fayetteville and Pittsboro, NC under the auspices of Grandmaster David Chin. He has also fought in many full contact competitions, but the bout in Ohio marks his formal entrance into the professional fighting ring. The bout also gave him the opportunity to demonstrate that coming from a "Kung Fu only" school is not a hindrance, and that Kung Fu stylists can be formidable opponents, deserving their place in the professional arena..
So if any of the mods feels inclined I wish I could change the title to "Hop Gar/Taiji MMA fighter!!!" But if it's too much trouble, no worries.

It was a little bit of everything. I spoke with the promoter the day of the expedition, which I believe those fight results are from. They had fights that night, then the next day, they had san shou and/or MMA type competions.

All of the proceeds went to feed the poor.

This was the 2nd annual "Fists for Hunger" It is organized by a Hung Gar school known as "Noble Clan Hung Gar"

Chris Hientzman's site has exceeded its bandwidth limit. I really wanted to see what his kung fu was all about.

Lemme get this right...

The Hung-gar guy fought in a tournament to end hung-er?

Where did this take place again, Hungary?

What'd this guy look like, anyway? Black? Real skinny? Pot belly? Hails from Ethiopia maybe?

He's talking about the fists about hunger tournament for 2005 and that he is trying to find video for us.

No, Magic08 is Chris Hayes. He says that the list quoted in 2005 is incomplete and that he also competed that night. He would like to know whether anyone here has any contact with people involved with Fists against Hunger, as he would like to acquire a video of the event so as to have video evidence of his fight (because if there's no video, it never happened.)
