    Shaolin Kickboxing mcdojo?

im new here so go easy on me! lol
a friend was telling me today that he does "shaolin kickboxing" surly this must be a mcdojo. I say this because the only style from china that is similar to kickboxing is Sanda/ San Shou. Have i got this wrong and it is a genuine school or is it just one of those damn belt factories?

well from what he said to me, the style has roundhouse kicks like Muay Thai and the hands CAN be used in the same way. However they are also taught how to use their hands in a similar way to crane, mantis and tiger style kung fu.

as for the actual school i have very little info on it

Without a link to a school website it is difficult to critique.

You may want to get some more information from your friend about the school, instructors, and even go there yourself and either observe a class or take a class. Without any of this information, it's very hard to come to any conclusions.
