    What koryu he studies.
What organisation issued his Iai grade.

If it's legit this will be a piece of piss to check. From what I can see though, it's another case of Sword Syndrome.
I sent him the following email. His response, if any, should be interesting.

"I was surfing the web and noticed your school. I'm interested in Japanese sword styles and had a few questions regarding Iaido. I hope I'm not being too nosy. What rank are you in Iaido and what instructor did you train under? Is there a particular Iaido organization you belong to and approximately how long did it take you to reach your current rank.

I don't know much about Sword styles so please forgive my ignorance.

    Thank you for your time."

Nicely done. I predict he will avoid the questions and invite you down.

I showed the kakidote website to my brother and he confirmed it wasn't the school Mr. Sai Stabber was from. The last my bro had heard, Mr. PK's school consisted of a few guys training outside in a back yard.

I haven't gotten a response regarding the Iaido questions I e-mailed the head instructor and don't really expect one.

I'm refering to the great quantity of cheap poor quality knock off knives and swords that is mass produced in Pakistan. I refer to the Sai Stabber as PK because his sword appeared rusty as well as the hilt being slightly crooked and/or loose.

You were absolutely correct. Here is the terse response I recieved from Mr. Green

"thank you for your interest, shinkage ryu kenjutsu,we are moving to a
    larger
building, and expect to reopen in 3 weeks,#36 south cedar st,cookeville
    tn,,,,jimu sensei"

I'll let those training in sword styles give an opinion on shinkage ryu kenjutsu and the possible validity of his claims.

This is now beyond my understanding, as it's heading into archaic koryu. I'm aware of the story of the founding of the ryu but not much else.

I'd suggest you contact Dave Humm posting as Rock Ape here, or Lord Asia as they have more than a fair understanding.

I'd also suggest posting a summary of this thread and the findings so far over on E-Budo, they have a great many experts on the subject.

Shinkage Ryu huh. Ok first off Shinkage Ryu (新陰流) is a very old a well respected Kenjutsu school of Japan. However, there are ALOT of Shinkage Ryu nutcases and fakers (see link in sig for one I encountered).

The key question to ask here are

"Who licensed him to teach Shinkage Ryu?"

"What is his license?" The answer to this would be a Menkyo (licenses) not a rank like 5th dan.

"What organization of Shinkage Ryu does he belong too"?

"Who is the grandmaster of Shinkage Ryu (there are a few lineages)"?
    Edit: Sig link:
    My sig is MIA.

As you already know Cheap ass Katana are make out of industrial 440 B Stainless Steel rather then the correct carbon forged steel.

There are a few places that make these shitty swords, China and Taiwan being the standard. However, even shittier then them is Pakistan making 440 B swords that aren't even the quality of the Chinese or Taiwanese rips off, and sell for 1/4 the price.

A Pakistani Katana is the lowest of the low of ripoffs.

I just find it odd that his website specificially lists Iaido on several locations with no mention of Shinkage ryu. This may just be my vast ignorance speaking, but I was under the assumption that Iaido and kenjutsu were to totally different martial arts. I mean isn't Iaido mainly drawing the sword from a seated position? If he is a legit shinkage ryu teacher then why put Iaido on the website?

Considering his email failed to answer any of my questions, I don't think asking him anything else would be fruitful. I've done a little research on his kenpo lineage, and from what I've found its legit. At this point I'm gonna assume Mr. Green is a decent kenpoist who may have padded his sword resume and/or have a japanese weapon fetish.

Kenjutsu claims aside, I wonder how this man also learned kyudo. Cookeville, as well as Tennessee, isn't exactly the epti-center of Japanese martial arts.
