    Pain after skipping

    Does anyone else have this experience? After 4 x 5min rounds of skipping, I develop a pain in the ligament? that runs on the outer side of my ankle, where the bony ankle bone protrusion is.

    Is there a stretch for this tendon/ligament that I can do?

    It never hurts to try new shoes. It's amazing how quickly the cushioning wears out compared to the uppers. Most people wear their shoes well past their useful life for sports activity.


    Regardless, it sounds like your feet are overpronating. You may need orthotics.

    A decent sports store might have a treadmill and a motion-analysis camera setup to help you select the right shoe. It might shed some light on your situation without having to pay for a podiatrist.

    Then again, it could be cancer. Rub some dirt on it.

    A life of taking pain killers daily is going to be a short life. I think you are better off dealing with the pain.

    Thanks for all the responses. BTW, I skip barefooted, but on jigsaw mats. I don't really want to take medication, because like feral said, I'd need to keep taking it every training session, because we skip before every class, 3x a week.

    I just need to know if anyone knows of a stretch to stretch that ligament that I can do when I feel it cramp up.

    Oh, and kracker, I'd like to see you post a video of yourself skipping for 20 mins before you call me a *****. Just don't fall all over the ropes and kill yourself.
