    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Be your own batman!

In honor of my recent purchase of Batman Begins, I thought I'd start a stoopid thread about how one could actually equip oneself to be a batman like crimefighter. So without further ado, I give you the do-it-yourself batman kit.

You start with a suitable under armour layer, of course, choosing heat or cold gear depending on the climate.

Next, you're gonna add some standard black BDU's (or if you're really into the authentic look, just stay with the under armour!), good black boots and some basic protective equipment like hard shelled elbow, knee and shin pads (not pictured). Some of them even offer ballistic protection. Then you want some decent body armor. I'd recommend a threat level III BV, with the plates. SOmething like this...

As you may or may not know, BV's do not provide much protection against stab wounds. However, the plates (over vital areas) will. Plus the BV will provide at least as much protection against cuts and stabs as any other thick, layered clothing. Having worn a level II vest, I can also tell you that it will offer some protection/padding against being hit/kicked/etc.

For gloves, I like these riot gloves, that will offer plenty of hand protection for throwing down:

Add a hood like this, with heat and flash protection, and you're almost ready to go.

But, now you need weapons. Being the nonlethal sort, you will of course, carry a solid OC spray (not picture). Probably several. You should also carry one (or two if you can handle it) of these: You can get them in a variety of sizes and weights.

I would also certainly carry a tazer and a stun gun.

But this, for "the batman" is the piece de resistance:

An honest to god grappling gun. Of course, unlike Batman's, this one is big and bulky. But, shoot man, it's real!

There may be a few other pieces of equipment you'd want or need, but this should get one started.

    *grin*

Oh yeah, and flex cuffs. You'd need some of those.

I think a cup would be a good idea, too.

You will also need a kooky knife with a lot of angles that's virtually impossible to sharpen.

You forgot about the overly conspicuous crime-fighting mobile.
Maybe a Harrier, or an M1 Abrams MBT.

I just want comic-book style captions when I hit people like they had in the old school show. "POW" "BAM" "Crunch".:icon_twis

i think an outfit like this would make you look more like a "terrorist" than batman.

still, if you ever wanted to go on a rampage of vigilante justice, batman-style, this is probably what you should wear.

That's what the cape would be for. Unfortunately, Galls doesn't carry one.
