The entire article is pretty much garbage. Put it out of your mind and go and get some decent training. Easy enough to find what constitutes this with the search function.

I already said I was researching other martial arts!
Of course, the best way to do that is to train in a style that does all that. So, quit Shotokan and do kickboxing.
I wish someone had told me that 20 years ago.
what if they squeeze your peach?

Shadowhand, I got your message, whats your question?
This reminds me of back in 93 when the UFC came out and BJJ hit the scene. I was in TKD back then and wanted to cross train in something and got that line of horseshit from my TKD instructors. I then started Judo after visiting other crappling places in the area. (South Louisiana is not the martial arts meca.) After a few years I decided to go visit my TKD instructor and he starts going off how they, the organization, are crosstraining now in some made up name of jujutsu. He then states and I **** you not that after only a few classes he was thrown and managed to roll through the technique and get the guy in an arm bar. So he really didn't see how throwing was all that good. I nearly vomitted on the spot. They are all going to hell for the vast amounts of bullshit that expells from their vocal orafice.
