    PKA was the first kickboxing organization in the U.S.

    It was started in the 1970s I believe.

    I remember watching on TV as a little kid.

    As mentioned, ex-boxers like Randall "Tex" Cobb fought. I remember guys used to wear their black belt and long satin gi pants to fight. I loved it as a kid.

    Well that style of kickboxing is still very prevalent in the states. At the last tournament I went to, you had the guys wearing the long satin pants with a black belt tied around the waste.

    Although it is far from my preferred style of competition, FCR kickboxing is plenty respectable.
