Some people will be better at fighting from both sides than others. It depends on your own dexterity and the quality of your training. Although, if it is encouraged from day one ( as it has been in my case) you become adept at it fairly quickly.

In general I think switching leads is kind of silly, but in his case where he's obviously not much of a striker at this point, picking up the right lead seems reasonable.
