    Another great place for all things grip and wrist...
    That video is pretty helpful. I'll be down for a while from knee surgery and wanted to really work on my hand/wrist strength while I'm off my feet.

    Woa, woa. Hold on!!! Be careful!!!! Some of the stuff in that clip is great, but others are extremelly dangerous if your grip is weak.

    For example, take the fingertip pushups with the hands supinated on the stick, or the "instability" knuckle push ups on the toweled covered stick. If your fingers give in, if you wrist bends, your fist will come crashing down with all your body weight on the back of your wrist. You may as well ask someone to kote gaeshi the **** out of wrist.

    Try towel chin ups, barbell rows holding the bar with towels, or knuckle push ups or levering exercises with a sledge hammer. Those are safer ways to create a good base for grip training. Or check the "combat grip" at grapplearts (http://www.grapplearts.com/Grip-Strength-Training.htm) - that's been the best source I've seen so far for starting anything on grip conditioning.

    A fucked up wrist takes months to recover - don't play with that ****.

    I didn't like the full-weight stability exercises since the price if you screw up is too high, I loved the fingertip pull-ups. Will add that-

    Currently I do wrist curls and (don't know the name) and exercise with hanbo in hands, palms facing downward, arms extended from waist level. Grip with one hand, roll the other wrist forward, grip bo. Return that wrist to neutral gripping bo, roll other wrist forward, grip. Repeat. Makes a nice forearm burn, and helped me a good deal when I was learning sai forms and escrima.
