    Guard for bareknuckle/MMA?

What's a good defensive position for hands that works without gloves or in MMA gloves? I like the Peek-A-Boo with gloves on, but, at best, it needs big adjustments to make the switch to bareknuckle.
"[Fighting for Points] is doubtless very pretty, and invariably draws applause, but preferences should always be given to blows that do some business, to good straight hits that do something toward finishing the fight.
A man who has carefully trained for brilliant tapping play, will find himself considerably out of it in case he is called upon to do any real work."

You're really going to need to rely on timing and distancing+ footwork. I wouldnt worry so much about hand position because they're not going to be great protection.

Relying on your gloves is a crutch imo, even if you're competing in a ruleset that allows you to do so.

Rodney King's stuff works pretty well without the gloves.

I like to use a shield. I keep both hand up near my face and use my forearms and elbows to take the brunt of it. Your hands are going to get smacked from time ot time, there is no way around it.

    Who?

Crazy Monkey, aka Rodney King's stuff, is great for the street, IMO. Yes, you will get body-shot to death by a decent boxer, but what are the chances the drunk jerkoff picking a fight with you is going to do that? Usually, I don't espouse 'train for the untrained attacker' philosophy, but if you want to cover your head from haymakers, CM is a pretty good way to go.

See Rampage in his fights against Liddell and Wanderlei to see it used to awesome effect.

oh hiiiiim. Yeah, with the small diff of him using the bow-draw guard, with both arms raised to the shoulder level, rear elbow almost above the shoulder.
