If two consenting adults/parties meet together then there are certain limits that can be met before any assault legislation becomes active.
You cannot do anything that wold endanger the life of another or cause unnecessary risk of injury, but legitimate sporting competition qualifies as a defence.
At least it does for the U.K. - I can't see most places being much different -

Two words. Gray Area.
I propose having all attendees of throwdowns present identification that will be cataloged in a secure location so that if anyone presses legal action after consenting to hard sparring the Bullshido ex-ninjers can exact our revenge by using their skills to hunt and kill the bitches family and friends.Knowing is not enough, you must apply...

Throwdowns are just sparring.
If sparring was illegal, this forum would be about the BS of Scientology or something. -

Wouldn't posting an acceptance on these forums preclude legal action as an understanding of the event and acceptance of the consequences? It seems, to me at least, as long as the records of the challenge and acceptance are documented losers would have no legal recourse except to suck it up and take their humiliation like adults.

Legality of throwdowns?
