Lacking in equipment does not equal lacking in training. I AM in rural China, you know? They can only afford so much. The owner doesn't get any profit from this. He only opened a school because it is his passion. He only gets enough money to pay his rent from the school, and that only from the Taekwondo class that uses the space in the mornings, I think.

Jumping around on concrete isn't hardcore, it's retarded.

Settle down, assholes. Living in rural China is, in fact, a reasonable explanation for doing knuckle push-ups in place of benching.

I did read his post. And, yes, he's sickeningly enthusiastic, but most of us were at one point -- regardless of what we were training. It's really not necessary to make a concerted effort to crush his spirits during his first week.
Beginners come and go. I would personally like to hear about how this guy's training progresses, since he actually offers a window into something fairly unique. After six months or so -- if he actually sticks things out -- it will be time to attack any delusions he has.

You can't practice Judo just to win a Judo Match! You practice so that no matter what happens, you can win using Judo! The key to fighting two men at once is to be much tougher than both of them.

I don't think that's what he's saying. I think that he reminds you during the first year of your training. And that makes you cringe.
