Is that the one with Sting in it?
Straight punches make you go blind. More damage is done to a criminals nervous system when they are struck. Strikes that make you stronger. All this and more systema douchebaggery:

Well, Ryabko is not the only proponet of Systema, there is also Kadochnikov, both are linked to Russian Military. Kadochnikov´s link is:

Sambosteve, thanks for the translations. I don't really care for systema, but it just feels great to read sources and then discuss/bash/whatever, instead of just d/b/w without any factual information...
And I hope I don't disturb you ladies, but I'd just love to know the opinions of some of the better informed amongst you about the connection between Spetsnaz and the Noks knife manufacturing company. They claim to produce (mass-production version of) blades for the Spetsnaz/GRU units...

Kadachnikov Systema is a different style from Ryabko/Vasiliev Systema. Both use the name Systema however they are different. Ryabko and Kadachnikov know each other in a professional sense but there is no connection between their organizations.
I believe Ryabko/Vasiliev Systema has been influenced by Kadachnikov Systema however as I think the Kadachnikov style is more prevalent in the Russian military as a whole.

I study under Viktor Sirotin in Seattle who trained under Ryabko in the Soviet Union. He is not part of Ryabko/Vasiliev systema but he corraborates the above statement and a number of other things that Ryabko & Vasiliev have to say about the style including:

This is not quite the independent corraboration that you seek but it does come from outside of the community.Last edited by EricH; 12/27/2006 7:10pm at .
