    returning to old school

I'm wondering whats the general attitude among BJJ instrucors and schools on old students returning. I used to train at a school near where I lived and had to stop because my source of money (work) had ended. I left on good terms ie: I told them I was leaving. I've been gone about 18 months now focusing just on school and maintaing a crappy job. I'm finaly in a position to get back into training. I'm curious as how one would be recieved returning after a long absence. I had been training at different school recently but the monthly price is to much and this school would be about half the price.

You'd probably be recieved well if you ended on good terms. You'd also be surprised at how good everybody got I'm assuming.
I think only idiots assume that someone who trains for the ring can't make the switch to the street as soon as things change. - dweidman

I think the only time you're not welcome back at any school is when you do one or more of the following:

    1. stiff people on money
    2. teach the technique to non-members (for profit or to hurt the school)
    3. hurt people a lot

I have students dropping in for class, even though I haven't seen them in months. Hell, recently I had a former student drop by to visit even though he hasn't trained with me in at least 10 years.

If you weren't an ass, and there's people there who remember you, then I don't imagine any problems.
