"MATCH #5: Linda Wright (Team Lloyd Irvin) vs. Andy Bulas (FightWorks/JungSu)
TKO (Andy Bulas)"
Was this an intergender match?
Anyway, if you're willing to throw in a little for travel costs, I'd be way into fighting on your March event.
What they said. Glad to hear you are keeping busy KK.
Yes, it was an intergender match. Originally, we had worked out a 3-person bracket. The 2 girls were Linda at 135 lbs (mid-20's), Caitlyn at 155 lbs (20-ish), and Andy at 135 lbs (13 years old).
They were each supposed to fight the other for 2 x 2-minute rounds, so that each of them would get in a total of 4 rounds. However, Linda TKO'ed her opponent with a knee, but was then TKO'ed herself by Andy's punches. Caitlyn scratched after seeing how strong Andy's punches were.
I'd love to have you and Kat up for March, but we simply won't have the budget for fighters travel expenses. Also, I'm not sure I'd be able to find you a match. I had to scramble to get those 3 hooked up, which was why I put them in a 3-way bracket. At this time, my event is focused on pure novices, even though its open to all amateur fighters. I'm trying to set up a match in March that has the current WKA U.S. Champ against another local fighter with a few MT titles on his resume.
Shoot me an email and I'll add you and Kat to the events mailing list! Hopefully this will 'take off' and I'll be able to slide you guys some money for travel expenses later on down the road!
I was there for the fights... our fighters(Pro-fitness) did a great job!
Hopefully I'll drop some more weight by the next one and be able to participate...
That's cool, definitely email us when the show takes off and you need a couple of chick fighters (emailing ya now).
was there a thread about this somewhere and i missed it?
it's kinda weird finding out there was something interesting going on maybe fifteen minutes away from me... after the fact.
Would you mind seeing if Caitlyn is interested in a Bonafied amateur matches? Finding wqomen at 155 and up is rough biz so I'm always on the lookout.
