    best overall exercises for newbie

Ok what is everyones overall best exercises for:
CONDITIONING/WWEIGHT LOSS (TOTAL BODY AKA: BURPEE)
    UPPER BODY- (HINDU PUH-UP)
    LOWERBODY -(HINDU SQUAT)
    ABS:(bicycle)
How do you come up with your sets and reps for these?

I am fairly new to bodyweight training and my goal is more of functionally fit, lose a little weight, ok alot, and increase my flesxibility. I have been avid in the weight room but i am ready to transition to the bodyweight traiing. Also do any of you do yoga and what dvd do oyu suggest?
    Thanks in advance.

Do workout 1 until it's easy, then do workout 2.

GtheEE has it summed up perfectly

    b) must be performed equal sets and reps both sides, otherwise muscle imbalance will occur

(remember it's quantity not quality that counts)

    Feel free to skip a)

    On a more serious note

    www.bodweightculture.com is a good resource

check out the core/abs workout (from one of the BWC guys) here http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=Celciusss ,,

A thread with a couple of good workouts in it. The 100 burpee routine by Hannibal at the start (Regardless if he actually does it or not) is hardcore http://www.bullshido.net/forums/showthread.php?t=47458
    Build to it slowly!!!

What are you training for? Health? Striking? grappling? MMA? General sexyness?

the bodyweight culture stuff is neat, do a search for akuzawa or aunkai and you will find some interesting bodyweight exercises.

I stopped lifting to do these exercises instead. They are seriously tiring.
