You're 100% correct Hiji, but please tell that to the morons who keep churning it out as an excuse.

Ok, a recent message just said "try that double leg takedown in THE STREET and you will get maimed by the dudes friends".

OK genius. I'd like to see your style take on a gang of dudes. The reality is GRAPPLING OR NO GRAPPLING, IF FRIENDS JOIN IN YOU ARE FUCKED. You know where i'm from? SOUTHEAST FUCKING WASHINGTON DC. The murder capitol of the nation. You know what happens when you get jumped? You either run or get your ass beat.
You're a fucking moron. Congrats...you live in Washington D.C...along with 4 million other people. I lived in D.C. for 4 years, what's your fucking point?

The whole point of the discussion was not to tell people to go out and start fights with multiple people...the point was to try and show that a double leg takedown leaves you on the ground. On the ground is not a good place to be...why?...because it's harder to run away and it's harder to get into a good position if there is more than one of them.

Have none of you homos ever fought somebody? Have none of you ever fought somebody when there were people around? Have you never seen somebody who was watching a fight, decide to kick one of the guys on the ground? I've seen it. I've been kicked. You never know what's gonna happen...that's the point. I'd rather try to deal with the unpredictable on my feet, as opposed to on the ground...

That's the simple point I was trying to make. Now go back to your really dangerous neighborhood, and practice your double leg takedowns.

Incidentally, I have nothing against double leg takedowns...their great to take someone to the ground with...I just don't think that on the ground is the best place to be when your fighting outside the ring.

Since when does a double leg have to leave you on the ground?

I don't know about you guys but I can double leg and keep my feet pretty easily.

Why does everyone make the assumption that it's always YOU who takes it to the ground ?

Even an untrained person can have hold of you and force you to grapple very quickly.

    That's what I thought.

And I still want to know why everyone who brings up this arguement always assumes it's you who takes it to the ground ?

I agree, and I believe you. My piont was simply that it's not really the best option. If you can pull it off, then more power to you.

"Why does everyone make the assumption that it's always YOU who takes it to the ground ?"
    I don't think anyone has.

"Werent you the moro talking about NIT running from multiple attackers or youre a punk?"
I'm the one who said that my "first instinct" is to fight, not run. I've already admitted to running if it's a worse case scenerio.

I might be missing something here but if you get jumped by a group wouldn't you have to fight in order to run away.

In the fog of doubt and bad technique, pain clears the view to proper technique.
