Some people really do have to cut a lot of weight or even dehydrate if they want to show a six pack. Reference our current UFC heavyweight champion.

Hey Kid, drinking isn't an issue. If I have 6 drinks a year that alot.
Lidell does have a stomach doesn't he. I feel better, now if I only had hair enough for a mohawk. That's about my situation. But lets face it, who wouldn't like to have a chiseled stomach. I run 220-230 on a 6'5" frame on average and cut back to 204. Even after I cut wieght I still have "baggage". I have even cut back to 195 and still had them. 195 was misserable and I'll never do that again. -

after alcohol come caffeine, sugar, and fried food. replace them with cardio. once you're eating well, it's just a matter of cardio and portion control.
eating less for a couple days will do remarkable things to one's profile.
as for chuck (who is lhw, not hw, but who cares), look at his weigh in pictures as well as his fight pictures. he eats a ton after he makes weight, that's why he has a gut when he fights.Last edited by pauli; 12/09/2006 12:13am at .

Sit ups and crunches work your rectus abdominus. This muscle is designed to bring your chest to your hips (or vice versa) and thickens through medium intensity work (like lots of sit ups and crunches). A lot of body builders have guts when they're not sucking in.
You're better off working twisting motions and using impeccable form with general weightlifting. This will work your tranversus abdominus, which criss-crosses your inner core and works sort of like a girdle. In other words, the stronger this muscle gets, the tighter your middle will be.
For rectus abdominus work, try weighted crunches where you can only do a handful (i.e. under six) at a time. This will keep you strong without giving you "hard fat."
But it's not like a good diet is going to kill you either. -

To tell you the truth Pauli... I am one of those retards that stuck to his New Years resolution and got his **** together. Eat 5-6 times a day (small portions). Un cooked veggies and lots of friut, fish and white meats. Make a point of avoiding excessive sugar esspecially that high frutose bullshit they put in nearly every thing. Caffine, well, I drink green tea (that shits addictive) and the occasional pop (every other week or so, maybe). Quit smoking. I do 60 minutes of cardio every other day. When I cut wieght I pick up the cardio to 60 minutes a day at least. Along with wieghts, drills and sparing.
