I am just wondering if the pain is related to a common boxing injury and if there is a common treatment for it. -

Ok, since Alex already got in a dig, I won't mention the latest research into the possibility of a causal relationship between striking things and a painful sensation in the hands.
What kind of wraps are you using? How tight are they?
What kind of gloves are you wearing? Boxing? MMA? Bag? How heavy are they?
What kind of heavy bag are you hitting? Canvas, vinyl, Nevatear (TM)? How heavy is it? How "hard" is it?
You said "lately". How long have you consistently been doing this bag routine?
It could be anything from delayed-onset muscle soreness to periostitis or something more severe like stress fractures or even arthritis. Ideally you should consult a physician.
However, if you won't do that, at the very least you should take a break. That's the most common treatment for overuse injuries, and often the most effective. They rarely heal without rest, and "just waiting 'till it feels a little better" isn't sufficient. Lay off until it is completely healed or you're very likely to continue re-injuring yourself.Dave
