Also Monson's cardio is a bit suspect.

Or maybe he was just bored near the end of the Sylvia fight. I know I was

And even with just sub defense, he managed to be the closest fight Fedor was in in most of his career.

Like I said before, I still favor Fedor in this match, but Monson matches up better against him than most people are giving him credit for. He's a large, strong guy with good takedowns that Fedor is not going to sub from the bottom. His problem is that he's not much of a sub finishing machine either (although he's still better than Arona in that regard) so he's likely going to have to control Fedor the whole fight, and that's a tough proposition.
Exactly. Also we will see if Monson can box/strike worth **** and how good his chin is (considering Fedor's punching power).

I see this as a fairly unique opportunity to see how two different champions fight against the same guy. I also agree with fatherdog. This is definitely one of the more interesting matchups I've seen lately.

Oh yeah. But Still, monson has no hope of out-striking fedor. He's looked terrible every time I've seen him on his feet.
You can't make people smarter. You can expose them to information, but your responsibility stops there.

Yeah, there's not much chance of that happening. Still, I think this is a better matchup for Monson than Sylvia was.

I think he was plenty bored. It seemed like his only chance was in rd. 3, and after that you could see that he pretty much knew it was over. It's not like Sylvia was putting up much of a fight, he was content to play it safe so he would win the dec.
