Omega uses lightening kung fu on them. It's sorta like the quick bitchslap combo that Eddie Honda used to use in streetfighter.

    No, really.

Convinced about what? I'll give you that he looks fat and out of shape, but physical fitness is not a prerequisite for a lot of Kung Fu

Take it for what it is - one guy faced another and lost. If you are that concerned why not step up and take the "Gracie Challenge" to defend the honour of your system? Persoanlly I'll stick to the "Pepsi Challenge" because I know I can beat that every time

Not the most auspicious first post! And from what position can you make such a claim?

Im not convinced by the quality of many of the gracies opponents during this period of time(and in the early UFC Days) as much as i think BJJ is a great art, i think some of these challenges are no more than 'clever marketing'.

The gracies knew they had a good system and they knew they could fight but who gives a **** if you beat an out of shape distinctly average Kung Fu practioner?

Nobody does, thats why when this was first put up on the net back in the 90's by the gracie boys it was marketed as something over the top like 'Kung Fu Master vs Gracie'.

Lets be honest calling this guy a Master is a little ridiculous.

You mean Jason Delucia (yes, he is the man on that tape)?

    http://www.sherdog.com/fightfinder/f...p?FighterID=22

A distinctly average kung fu practitionner, sure... With a 33-20-1 MMA fight record.

    You sure you'd do better?

Damn it you found the stats before I did.

So yes Bear stop. Do I agree some of them were marketing tactics? Yes.

Do I believe fat Masters thought they could fight anyways and challenged the Gracies? Yes.
