    no way

unfortunately, it looks like the people at the darwin awards are wrong: the tree of life is not self-pruning. it looks like the self-preservation instinct is on sabbatical for these folks.:icon_salu

Stuntmen learn how to do stunts safely and use breakaway glass not plate glass.

I think I have found an art to encompass the name I created so many weeks ago: awesome-jitsu.

awesome-jitsu sounds way too cool for this, really.

i'm upset that these people could potentially reproduce.

I have to find something to name awesome-jitsu. It's just too, too.. awesome to go unused. Perhaps I shall create a style that combines Wushu and MMA. The Wushu won't actually be used for fighting unless the opponent is significantly far way from you, but instead for victory dancing. However, it will be the most important part of my training.

i'm totally with you. awesome-jitsu must refer to something fitting.

clearly it must both be awesomely effective while looking awesome as well, so i see why you're thinking MMA/wushu.

clearly MMA must be involved for empirically-proven effectiveness/awesomeness

so now the question is: how do we make it look as awesome as possible?

lots of um, flying kicks (enzu-geri?) like the kyokushin/krotty guys do

flying armbars and flying triangles.. flying knees. pretty much anything that involves leaving the ground would be sufficiently awesome to be put to use in awesome-jitsu.

but to maintain its awesomeness, it must only include flying techniques that have been proven to work.

also, the most incredible of throws. mega-suplexes and super-uchi-matas and stuff. the more air time, the better.

    sound good so far?

Sounds incredible. Also, instead of a double leg takedown, we have THE SPEAR. It could be the classic pro wrestling spear if that ends up working, or just a double leg where your feet leave the ground.

Oh and don't forget spinning back fists and that kick sweep that GSP did against Hughes.

The Spear!! That sounds like an appropriately awesome technique.

Let's see, spinning back fist, kick sweep.. we have to have those. Um, spinning back kick, although relatively vanilla these days, still generates a sufficiently sick amount of power to = awesome.

i think we should also include pretty much anything from bas rutten's self-defense videos..

oh, and his open-hand striking techniques, because then it looks like you're [edit to be slightly less sexist] "slapping a bitch", which makes for an awesome way to beat someone up.

hrrrmmm.. oh, and you'd have to train some particularly awesome submissions. crucifix, twister.. stuff that makes you look like you've just been royally fucked to even the grappling-uninitiated.

    are we missing anything?
