    finishing triangles form the top

it's so easy, yet I never see anyone doing it. Furthermore, in all the tutorials involving triangles , no one finishes it there.

Basically, tighten up all your angles. Pull the arm across the neck (doesn't even have to be much, just somewhere across the neck), and lean out at a 45 degree angle in the direction that their trapped arm is posting. I post both my hands out so i am not flat, and just squeeze a little. It's always an instant tap, no struggling, just a tap.

Maybe there is a counter I am unaware of, but I cant imagine it.

I do it all the time, it isn't uncommon. It can be hard to get it that way on someone who doesn't suck though. Any time someone tries that on me, they're not staying on top, and probably not getting the triangle either.

Due to my mount game sucking big time (having a tough time transitioning my 6'3" frame tight enough to pull of clean subs) the mounted triangle is my go to sub. 9 times out of 10 the guy bridges and rolls which puts you on your back but so long as you control the head the triangle is imminent.

I rarely get it as a submission (I have only 150 pounds to lean on them) but if I play it like S mount on steroids I can usually get something good out of it.

BS on 150 lbs on someone heavier than you. Just use Relson's "if you can't lock the triangle on them because they are too big" submission, Hedge.

edit: argh... too early for me to make sense and realize what I said... well thats if you are not from mount...but still if you rolled or get rolled into the triangle position from guard, then what I just said will work.

yeah sorry about that. I'm not making sense to me. lol. I was mostly speaking to Hedge becasue he should know what the move I am talking about is. Basically that move is if you can't finish a triangle because the person's frame is too large there is a submission that Relson Gracie teaches that allows to to finish it... its kinda of a compression on the neck backish area mroe than a choke... I am not quite sure.. but it works when you can pull it off right, which I have trouble doing and trouble explaning it... I should work on that tonight then come back and do it better justice.

Uh. Triangles from the mount are incredibly common. Sometimes you have to roll to finish depending on how they're protecting their neck but they were my go to move for a long time.
