I feel uncompelled to take advice from someone who personally choose to 'roll' with other men ... on a mat ... in public.

Oh, God! It is a dark day when an Englishman is corrected in grammatical matters by a Canuck and a Yank.

Dave, I hearby strip you of you Englishness, you are now officially Welsh.

Someone mentioned lubricated vaginas? Hmmm. Yummy.
Now... I wonder if this opinion is going to find usage in the threadstarter's "project"...

Not sure about the "better person" part. For the body: I've been training for a little over 2 years now. I know I'm in a lot better shape than I was. I've lost fat and gained muscle. I'm much stronger and have a lot more endurance. My flexibility and balance have improved dramatically. Mentally, I've found that punching and kicking people, bags, pads, etc. is a great way to relieve stress.

This is such a retarded question, an illicit example of what is wrong with the modern world.

Have Martial Arts helped your mind?

Somewhat valid, in the sense that the physical aspect of MA can promote a healthier mind in the same way any physical activity can, also due to pressure one may learn to adapt and think quicker, however the nature of this question lends itself to a kind of BS idealogy we all so hate.

Have Martial Arts helped you become a better person?

This is completely retarded. The term "better" is by it's very nature wholly subjective, in this case I suppose you hope to ascertain whether or not someone has came closer to conforming to the theoretical "nice person" framework of our society?

At a cursory glance, let us assume that by "nice" you mean to following trait.

Courteousy: This should have been learnt from your parents and early social interaction, looking towards your instructor as some moral adjudicator is not only unhealthy but taking away from valuable rolling time.

The above translates to pretty much every facet of that argument.

Have Martial Arts helped your body?

The answer should be a resounding yes to this one. However persuing MA solely in order to improve fitness is retarded. The bulk of fitness comes OUTSIDE of your MA (read: Technical) class, from a diet, good sleep, mindset and of course, how often you hit the gym.

View the MA as a catalyst to fitness if you must.
