    My entrance

Hi, my name I signed up as is The Man but you can call me Rob, Robert, or any insult of your choosing.

I found this forum a week ago and it put everything that I was thinking about in words. I have been a victim of McDojos. My first experience is taking TKD when I was around 8 years old and becomming black belt at 9. It gave me a false sense of confidence untill I had to show my stuff. In higschool, some guy decided to pick a fight with me. I tried to talk my way out, but that didn't work. He threw a fist at my face and I ducked it. In response I threw out a sloppy ass kick with no power and I got knocked the **** out.

Not to long ago I joined another McDojo called American Hapkido Karate. To talk about it in the nicest way possible, it was ****. I joined and did Hapkido which they pumped up as a perfect self-defense style. Much to my dismay, much of our training consisted of being taught forms and being trained by the instructors younger sister. I did that for awhile and decided to embark on their Muay Thai class. They didn't even teach me. Not because I wasn't physically up for it (which I am) but because I was not "buddies" with the people who do it. Same thing with their BJJ class.

The only popular fighter who goes there is Aaron Brink (or you may know him by his porn name Dick Delaware). However he just went there to use the gym (the McDojo had a very low monthly fee) and beat up people and leave them bloody and not tell them he is a professional fighter. Also he was a complete asshole.

The Master (Grandmaster Sayed Qubadi) was a skilled pro in a bunch of martial arts that I view now is completely rediculous.

I am now moving across the country, and maybe I can find quality martial arts studio there.
