When I hear shuffle, it makes me think that it's a hop/lunge with the planted leg. I used to use this kick many eons ago, so let me see if I can describe it.
Stand in conventional left lead. Chamber lead left leg for side kick turning slightly sideways, and push off with your planted right leg. This should all happen nearly simultaneously. You should hop/shuffle/lunge forward a little, then stomp the left leg to stick the sidekick.
This would be as opposed to stepping forward with the rear leg first, then chambering your lead right, or switching leads, both of which are a little more conventional.
It can work. A buddy of mine broke my ribs using a shuffle sidekick. But like any sidekick, if your opponent is good with his footwork he can slip it and take your back pretty quickly. Just something to watch out for. -
