The Superman Punch

Beat me to it. Yeah this punch has been around forever. We have two variations one we now call the "superman punch" which is the straighter version and the other we call "death from above" which is more of a jump with an over hand.

Sounds like the Achilles move from Troy.

i remember watching him do that in troy and thinking maybe it was a greek thing. since zambidis does it and hes greek, and those are the only greek people i know of.

I once got hit in sparring with this. Not only did it catch me of guard but the guy actually kiaied and hit me.

I was training with a friend of mine Monday who was the protoge of my late kickboxing coach. He was eating me up with body shots (deja vu) so I came through with the superman punch. My late coach (name dropping here), who was one of Chuck Liddells old training partners, used to abuse us in the ring, taught us that maneuver back in 98.

Related note: This is an awesome technique and is unorthodox enough to catch most people off guard. I think Mike Zambidis gets to keep the crown on this one though.
