Tell me that was your warm up please?
If not, need lots LOTS more agro, commit to your kicks, that one shin kick was horrible (step of with the leading leg for one), work on your footwork, because your prone position wasn't great and some of the time I see one leg not touching the ground when you punch. No offense intended but you have a lot to fix by the look of things IMHO.

Good Kyokushin guys don't keep their hands down. In knockdown tourneys the good guys will be head hunting with round kicks. To get use to the contact level you need for this you may want to put on some gear and bang real hard then take each piece off until you are going harder with no gear.
Some of the guys in this thread are just plain wrong. That sort of intensity is fine for no gear at all just before a tourney. No one wants to go to a tournament with injuries.
The real problem is the technique and the downcast eyes. You need to think more about getting the Ko or knockdown fast. In a Knockdown tournament the shorter your prelim fights are the better your wind will be in the finals. Try to end the fight with each technique or short combination.
Technique point:
A couple times you and your Sensei do what I like to call T-rex arms! Where you shorten your arms up and kinda hold them in front of your belly. Whenever anyone does that cut the angle and roundkick to the head. This is KO city. When someone's hands are down like that and they are moving backwards expect them to be KTFO.Last edited by WhiteShark; 6/28/2006 7:13am at .
