    Baltimore, MD - Baltimore Judo

Baltimore Judo Club was founded in 1953 by John Anderson, 8th dan in Kodokan Judo. We have 1500 square feet of mat space and offer kids and adult judo at all levels of skill. The curriculum is split between throws and groundwork at about 60/40.
We emphasize live drills, free sparring and competition.
If you know how to breakfall and know when to tap, you can play live on your first night.

Baltimore Judo Club is a part of Baltimore Martial Arts Academy and members with unlimited membership are free to attend classes at both locations.
Check out www.baltimoremartialarts.com for more info.

There's a bunch of small local tourneys with very reasonable entry fees, $25 - $35, and a bunch of bigger ones within driving distance (Liberty Bell, NY open etc).

Drop me a line for more info.

Nothing wrong with training with John Anderson. I started Judo there.

Judo, the sport for people with good rotators. I hate you.

Sensei Anderson is amazing in newaza. His mat work instruction is by far superior to ANY bjj schools in the area. Unfortunately, I've heard he has retired from Judo. I plan on returning to the club this month. I hope BJC still maintains their focus on newaza.

    I am coaching on Monday 6:30 - 8:00 and Wednesday 8:00 - 9:30.
On my nights you should be able to get in 20-30 minutes of live newaza.

Also, if you come on Wednesday before Judo, there's a BJJclass (with Pedro Sauer purple) from 6:30-8:00.

Mr Anderson is taking a break, he emailed me recently that he'll be returning to coach soon.

Drop me a line if you need more info (tomasdrgon@hotmail.com)
