This is more evidence that alot of people don't understand science, thus they tend towards nonsense that lets them keep their silly little philosophies intact.

How's this for a fun little fact: If you take in more calories than you burn off in a give period of time you will...survey says...gain weight in the form of fat! Even protein and carb calories will be stored as fat if not used. It's just how the body works. :tongue8:

On second thought, this isn't even about science, it's got more to do with just understanding language.

Seconded, what else? And I mean density as a function of weight per volume, not molecular density or something like that.

Now granted, in the case of specific objects we may speak of "heavier" without reference to density but when discussing substances I don't see how we can intelligently discuss heaviness without meaning weight/volume. Please enlighten me?

And it works that way because fat, unlike glucose and to a lesser extent proteins, "holds" the least amount of water while holding the larger amount of energy. This makes it more energetically dense, and therefore you less heavy. You see, everything is connected here and yet, I have no idea what they meant before.

For anyone whos still confused. Its about mass per a given volume. One cubic cm of muscle weighs more than one cubic cm of fat, because it has higher mass, which technically says it is more dense. I think this thread was posted to make fun of the guy who wrote this, not to prove half of you are as dumb as he is.

I'm sorry, I fucked up when I read. When he wrote that the fitness guy proved the point true, I thought he meant that 1 Lb muscle weighted more than 1 Lb fat, and not the original premise, which I seem to have completely blacked out.
