Hmm, something tells me that this would be a short contest regardless of who wins. I can speak from personal experience that my less than stellar alcohol tolerance is seriously reduced after cutting weight and fighting. The thing that kills me is that my desire to be out and about usually overrides this knowledge leading to a very massive hangover the next day.

And speaking of beer, WTF is up with Mickey's Malt Liquor being the new "official beer" of the UFC? (For those of you not familiar with the US's arcane liquor laws, anything over 4% alcohol can't be labeled as beer, hence "malt liquor" and "ale') I drank a ton of Mickeys when I was in high school because it was cheap, it did the job, and it didn't taste half bad when luke warm (I lived in the desert and we often had to have our parties off in the desert sans coolers). That said, I wouldn't drink it now if you paid me to. Well, maybe if you paid me. I do like Shiner Bock, though. Not half bad for a mass produced American beer. -

Garbanzo, it varies by state. Texas is 4% by weight. I think California may be 3.5% by volume. Other states have their own restrictions. Singha Beer, which I like quite a bit, has to label their beer as "malt liquor" (at least here in Texas - but I would assume elsewhere in the US as well, as it makes sense to label for the most restrictive market and not just on a state by state basis) because it is 4.5% by wieght.
See 12 and 15 under "Definitions."
Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code
And as for the fight, I think GSP's kick to Hughes' head pretty much answers the question in another thread of "are high kicks useful" and the argument that "all you need to do is shoot in on them when they kick to the head."Last edited by TEA; 11/25/2006 11:14am at .
